Frequently Asked Questions

All processing happens entirely on your device. CleanerPhone never transmits your contacts, photos, emails, calendar events, or files to our servers. Your data stays on your iPhone at all times. For more details, see our Privacy Policy.
CleanerPhone scans your address book for duplicates using two methods: exact matching (identical names or phone numbers) and fuzzy matching (similar names, minor spelling differences, or shared contact details). You can review each group before merging, so you stay in full control.
CleanerPhone supports Gmail, Outlook / Microsoft 365, and iCloud Mail. You can connect multiple accounts and manage them from a single view. Authentication uses each provider's official OAuth flow — your password is never seen or stored by the app.
Photos: Deleted photos go to your iPhone's "Recently Deleted" album and can be recovered within 30 days from the Photos app.

Contacts: Deleted contacts may be recoverable via iCloud.com if you have iCloud Contacts sync enabled (within a short window).

Emails: Deleted emails are moved to your provider's Trash folder and can typically be recovered from there.

Calendar events and files: These deletions may be permanent. We always recommend reviewing your selection carefully before confirming a bulk delete.
Each permission is required only for the feature it powers. For example, Contacts access is needed to find duplicates and delete entries; Photos access is needed to display and delete your images. You can grant or revoke each permission individually in Settings › Privacy & Security on your iPhone. Features without the relevant permission will be unavailable.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. To cancel:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Tap your name at the top → Subscriptions.
3. Find CleanerPhone and tap Cancel Subscription.

You will retain access until the end of the current billing period. For refund requests, please contact Apple Support directly.
Try the following steps:

1. Make sure CleanerPhone has the necessary permissions (check Settings › Privacy & Security).
2. Force-quit and relaunch the app.
3. Restart your iPhone and open the app again.
4. Ensure your iOS is up to date.

If the issue persists, please contact us at support@cleanerphone.app with a description of what happened and your iOS version.
Open CleanerPhone and navigate to the Email section. Tap the account you want to remove, then select Disconnect Account. This removes the access token from your device. You can also revoke access at any time from your email provider's security settings (Google, Microsoft, or Apple ID).
CleanerPhone requires iOS 16.0 or later. For the best experience, we recommend keeping your iPhone updated to the latest version of iOS.
